OMNMO
An ambient microphone which turns journeys into sound memories
This project aims to find new ways of motivating people to go outside and experience their surroundings through listening. Omnmo is a small device which can be worn by the user. It records surrounding or if desired, precisely aimed sound signatures. At home the recordings are quickly composed into a song.

The short project required frequent iterations. The shape enabled to hold the necessary technology.
The Final design
By taking Omnmo on outside, the device will gather soundscapes without distracting the user.
Together with sound manipulating Artificial Intelligence the raw sound recordings can be transformed to creating pleasing ambient sound profiles and adapting to personal taste. Every trip is accompanied by unique moments, new places, different times, and conditions.
These ambient soundtracks can be used as background music, which can convey the feeling enveloping a space previously visited. Maybe discovering surprising details.
To empower individual moments, Omnmo makes it possible to actively extract and listen to sounds of specific areas, by holding the device in front of you and darting through the middle.
